Is 13 Really My Lucky Number? Bottleworks 13th Anniversary Ale (video)

Bottleworks 13th Anniversary Ale 11% ABV

I’m finishing out my stint of reviews on beers with the number 13 in the title with Bottleworks 13th Anniversary Ale. This beer is actually brewed by Stone Brewing company for Bottleworks Beer store in the Seattle, Washington area. For this brew they went BIG and used 13 different hops and 13 different grains and really were able to make a good beer despite throwing the kitchen sink in on this beer.

The beer is very complex and  I falls between a barleywine and a stout but with no clear defined style on the label, one can only guess as to its actual style. Overall I was looking to be blown away by a beer that threw every ingredient in one beer but I came out a little confused and a bit sweaty(the alcohol) but I definitely had a good brew.

About Irving

I'm just a guy who has a passion for good beer. Over the past few years I've been making it a point to introduce my friends to good quality beer and now, all of you. There's a world beyond cold activated cans, clydesdales, green bottles and Mexican clear bottled beer, you just need to tap that keg. Stay thirsty but stay different.

  1. Lol. Any beer described as “sweaty” is not a beer for me.
