About Irving

I'm just a guy who has a passion for good beer. Over the past few years I've been making it a point to introduce my friends to good quality beer and now, all of you. There's a world beyond cold activated cans, clydesdales, green bottles and Mexican clear bottled beer, you just need to tap that keg. Stay thirsty but stay different.

  1. Myself and 5 other people tried the 19.5% variety, available in Ohio for $1.89/bottle. 4 of us liked the root beer taste when you initially took a drink, but absolutely hated the “nothing like root beer” medicinal aftertaste that hits immediately after swallowing. Only 1 person thought it was good, with no unpleasant aftertaste.

Overall, more people seem to like this beverage than dislike, so please don’t take my word for it. Try it yourself. You’ll probably enjoy it.

    • Thanks for letting me know. We don’t get it here in Jersey yet but when we do I will sure give it a try. 19.5% though is high and usually a medicinal taste means infection or mash problem. That’s interesting, I’ll make sure to point that out if/when I try it. Thanks again.

    • Was it really only a dollar$1.89 a bottle? I would like to try the stronger versions. The 5.9% is great for what it is, a hard root beer, but not as a beer. In my opinion these are craft alternatives, not that there is anything wrong with that.
